The castle Wiesenburg in Wiesenburg with its imposing donjon at a sloping mountain ridge above theMulde valley was centre of a lordship that encompassed large parts of the southern district.

Several times destroyed by fireand rebuilt, the Palace Wiesenburg, today privately owned, depicts the village's landmark. The courtyard with its half-timbered facades invites visitors to take a closer look.
