Katharinen Church

The Katharinen church was first recorded in 1209. Despite several construction changes in the following years due to the destruction by town fires from 1328 to 1403 the Katharinen Church still offers the visitor a united and townscape determined picture. Important sacral interior artworks are the figure of the risen Christ by Peter Breuer (1497), the winged altar by Lukas Cranachs the Elder, (1518) as well as the baptismal font and lectern by Paul Speck (1538).
